The City of Alexandria is currently accepting applications for the fulltime position of Police Officer. Applicants must be MN POST Board licensed or eligible to be licensed by May 1st, 2010.

 

Dear Applicant,

 

Thank you for your interest in the Alexandria Police Department.  Please read this letter carefully so that you are fully aware of the procedure that we will be using during our testing process.

 

Application Procedure – deadline March 17th, 2010, at 2:00 p.m.

 

1)      If you file a written application you must have it returned to Minnesota Work Force Center, 303 W. 22nd Ave., Alexandria, MN  56308, by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010, or fax to Minnesota Work Force Center at 320-762-7530.

 

2)      To file electronically, you will need to email application@alexandriapolice.com and request an electronic application.  You need to follow all instructions and complete all requested information and email it back to application@alexandriapolice.com and you must have it on file before 2:00 p.m. on March 17th, 2010.   If you electronically file your application you will receive an electronic confirmation. 

 

3)      Applicants are encouraged to submit typed applications and file electronically.  Applications that are not legible will not be considered.

 

Written Test – Friday, April 2nd, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. (details below)

 

If you have filed your application prior to the deadline you are invited to take the written examination which will be administered at the Alexandria Technical College, Office and Information Technology Building, (southeast corner of Jefferson Street and 18th Avenue – park in south parking lot and use south entrance to building), Room #743, 1601 Jefferson St., Alexandria, MN. at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2nd, 2010.  You may start checking in at 9:30 a.m. 

 

IMPORTANT – NO EXCEPTIONS - Bring a valid driver’s license or proper photo identification.  This is required to take the written test.
